Hello and welcome,

I am Dmitry Anokhin, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Decision Sciences at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. I specialize in data-driven stochastic and optimization models in the area of disaster management, power distribution systems, wildfires, and emergency healthcare.

After an undergraduate degree in applied mathematics and computer science, and gaining experience in the insurance industry in 2011-2013, my passion led me to pursue graduate education in applied mathematics in the U.S., and inspired me to switch to academia. Upon graduation in 2016, I have taught the fundamentals of business statistics at Kent State University in Ohio as well as multiple mathematical and statistical courses at California State University, Bakersfield.

In 2018, I started my doctoral studies at George Washington University under the mentorship of Prof. Miguel Lejeune, have cleared my comps in 2020, and have recently defended my proposal. I am currently working on my dissertation. My research has been published in the Production and Operations Management Journal, International Journal of Operational Research, IEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems, with several more papers currently under review at other journals.

I am actively involved with the POMS and INFORMS academic societies. I have presented multiple papers and chaired several sessions at their annual conferences. I am interested in taking my academic career to the next step, and would welcome the opportunity to get in touch.
